GiddyUpGo Privacy Policy

Who we are

GiddyUpGo is a scheduling and barn-management application used by horseback riding barns and their clients. This policy describes what information GiddyUpGo collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Your name, email address and mobile number, and your USEF and USHJA member numbers if you add them. You enter these yourself, and your barn's staff also enter them when they add you to the barn.
  • For a rider under 18: that they are under 18, their birth date if the barn records it, and the parents or guardians linked to them.
  • Horse records: who owns or leases each horse, and its health records, vet visits, medications, medical and daily-care instructions, and feed.
  • Lesson bookings, schedules and show entries, and the notes trainers write about lessons, with any photos and videos attached to them.
  • Documents uploaded to the barn, and health records a vet emails to the barn's GiddyUpGo address.
  • Conversations with your barn's trainers, announcements, the notifications we send you, and any replies you text to our number.
  • Billing records your barn keeps: statements, lesson usage, packages and plans, and payments the barn records. GiddyUpGo does not take or process payments and never asks for card or bank details.
  • When you agree to text messages: the number, the exact wording you agreed to, when you agreed, and the IP address and browser you used.
  • If you sign in with Google or Apple, the email address and account identifier they give us — with Apple's Hide My Email, a private address Apple forwards to you. If you sign in with Apple, we also keep a token Apple issues, so that we can ask Apple to disconnect GiddyUpGo when you delete your account.
  • If you allow notifications in the iPhone or Android app, the push token Apple or Google assigns and an identifier the app creates for that installation.
  • What you write in Report a problem, with your email address, your roles at the barn and the screen you were on.
  • A history of what happened at your barn and who changed what.
  • Our hosting provider's logs of requests to the app, and only the cookies the app needs to work, such as keeping you signed in and remembering the barn you last opened. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

How we use your information

  • To run GiddyUpGo for you and your barn: memberships, lessons and schedules, horses, shows, billing records and messages.
  • To send you notifications by email, by push notification in the iPhone or Android app, and by text message if you agreed to texts. Under Settings → Notifications you choose which kinds of texts you get, can turn texts off, and choose whether we email you about changes you make yourself; your barn's head trainer chooses which of these channels the barn uses. You can turn push notifications off in your phone's settings.
  • To keep the service secure, to keep the records a barn needs, and to fix problems you report.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or to track you across other companies' apps and websites.

Text (SMS) notifications

If you provide your mobile number and consent to text notifications, GiddyUpGo will send you scheduling messages such as booking confirmations, cancellation notices, and waitlist updates. Message frequency varies with your barn activity. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of using GiddyUpGo.

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by emailing us at the contact address below. Reply HELP for help.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Sharing

Your information is visible to people at your barn as their role there allows — for example, a trainer sees the riders booked into their lessons, and a parent or guardian sees a linked child's lessons and conversations. People at other barns do not see it. What you write in Report a problem goes to GiddyUpGo, not to your barn.

We use these service providers to run GiddyUpGo, and share information with them only so they can provide their service to us:

  • Supabase — our database, sign-in and file storage.
  • Vercel — hosts the app.
  • Resend — sends our email, and receives email sent to a barn's GiddyUpGo address.
  • Twilio — sends and receives text messages.
  • Apple — delivers push notifications to iPhones, and provides Sign in with Apple.
  • Google — provides Sign in with Google, and delivers push notifications to Android phones through Firebase.

We may disclose information if required by law.

Data retention and your choices

How long we keep information:

  • Your name, contact details and profile: while you have an account. Deleting your account removes them, as described below.
  • Lessons, bookings, lesson notes and their attachments, show entries, conversations, announcements, notifications, emails a barn receives, text replies, reports, registered devices and the activity history: twelve months after their own date — for a conversation, its latest message — and then they are deleted.
  • Horse health and care records, and documents: while the horse or person they are about is at the barn, and twelve months after it leaves.
  • Text-message consent records: four years after the consent is withdrawn. The STOP, START and HELP texts we receive: four years.
  • Billing records — statements, lesson usage, payments recorded, packages and plans: seven years.

A few records are kept longer: one that a record we must keep still refers to waits for that record, and one too large to remove automatically is kept. Automatic deletion on this schedule is being switched on; until it is, records can be kept longer.

You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app, under Settings → Delete your account. A parent or guardian can delete a linked child's account the same way. Deleting removes your sign-in and your personal details; the barn keeps its own operational and financial records, without your name on them. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to remove GiddyUpGo from your Apple ID's sign-in list. What deletion removes and what the barn keeps describes it in full.

To correct information a barn holds about you, contact your barn's administrator. To request access to your personal information, contact us below.

Children

Riding barns teach children, so GiddyUpGo holds information about riders under 18. A rider is recorded as under 18 by the barn's trainers or by a parent who adds their child, and marking a rider as under 18 requires linking a parent or guardian. The barn may also record a rider's birth date.

The barn cannot give a child their own sign-in: only a linked parent or guardian can, by sending the child an invitation. Every conversation about a rider under 18 includes their linked parents or guardians, and this cannot be turned off. A linked parent or guardian can manage the child's lessons, is billed for the child by default, and can delete the child's account as described above.

We do not ask a person's age when they create an account themselves.

Security

Connections to GiddyUpGo are encrypted. What each person can see is decided by their role at their barn, and those checks run on our servers rather than only in the app. Photos, videos and documents are stored privately and opened through links that expire. If you think someone has used your account without permission, email us at the address below.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time; the date above reflects the latest revision. Questions or requests: contact your barn's GiddyUpGo administrator, or email GiddyUpGo at joy.yinjun@gmail.com.
